Renfrew Institute’s 27th annual Jazz Fest is going to be another very special concert!
Grammy Award winning trumpeter, Randy Brecker headlines the show. Brecker has been an internationally known star since 1967 when he was part of the first album by Blood, Sweat and Tears. He later launched a pivotal and influential jazz fusion band, the Brecker Brothers (with his saxophonist brother, Michael).
His discography includes records with Stevie Wonder, George Benson, Elton John, The Manhattan Transfer, Paul Simon, Ringo Starr, Maynard Ferguson, Frank Zappa, Charles Mingus, Bette Midler, Carly Simon, Diana Ross, Frank Sinatra, Lou Reed, Steely Dan, John Scofield, Al Kooper, Dr. John, Spyro Gyra, Gato Barbieri, Yoko Ono, Herbie Mann, Phil Woods, Aretha Franklin, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen—and many more!
The concert is followed by an informal question and answer period. Free and open to the public. On the lawn behind the Renfrew Museum house [Rain site: Waynesboro Area High School auditorium]. Flier with all details, below.
