Birding enthusiasts Sharon and Larry Williams of Waynesboro will lead bird walks along the hiking trails at Renfrew Park throughout the summer, and continuing into fall and winter this year on the first and third Saturday of each month. Walks begin at Renfrew’s lower parking lot off Welty Road. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and may bring identification books and binoculars. Free and open to the public. Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

The solar eclipse begins in Pennsylvania around 2 p.m., with the maximum view in our area at 2:38 p.m., ending at 3:30 p.m. Come hang out with space science expert, Todd Toth from the NASA Goddard GLOBE Program at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, and the institute’s environmental staff. Activities and educational materials for all ages. Safety viewing glasses provided (while supplies last). Additional activities being planned, details will be added when confirmed. Renfrew Institute’s annual jazz festival spotlights top professional artists each year with stellar performing artists that light up the outdoor stage with hot summer jazz. For our 26th event, we have assembled an all-star group featuring trombonist, Conrad Herwig, Vincent Herring on alto sax, guitarist Paul Bollenback, Jeff “Tain” Watts on drums, and just announced, Jared Gold on organ.  The concert is followed by an informal question and answer period.
